Ehrler Battles Through Conditions To Claim FLW Event
Abu Garcia Revo Reels Instrumental in Win
Despite colder than expected temperatures, Abu Garcia pro Brent Ehrler won this past weekend on Table Rock Lake. The first FLW event of the 2010 season saw Ehrler running away with the event with a good 13-pound lead over second place finisher and Abu Garcia pro Ron Suffield. For his efforts, Ehrler walked away with a smile and $125,000.
Ehrler didn't have the greatest practice going into the tournament, but things began to look up for him as he hauled in 22-pounds, 2-ounces of fish on day two.
"I've never found a spot like this before," said Ehrler. "It was just loaded, and it replenished each day. It wasn't just big fish either. There were a ton of 12-inchers too. I even caught a walleye one day. I've never been so excited to go fishing each morning. I've never had a tournament like this."
The Redlands, Calif., native has had an impressive career fishing professionally. He has amassed over $1.3 million in career earnings, five tournament victories and has finished in the top ten 21 times. Before the victory on Table Rock, Ehrler's latest victory came in January in the FLW Series National Guard Western Division, which took place on Shasta Lake.
