Lane Uses Revo MGX For Win At Harris Chain
Lane Only Angler With 20 or More Pounds Each Day
Abu Garcia pro Chris Lane won this past weekend walking away from the field at Florida's Harris Chain of Lakes, which earned him a spot on the 2013 Bassmaster Classic list if he finishes the remaining two events of the Southern Open circuit. No other angler was close as the Guntersville, Ala., native captured the win with his three-day bag of 72-pounds, 11-ounces.
Lane's third career B.A.S.S. win came in the Southern Opens that have hosted each of his previous two wins. His first two were in 2006 and 2010. To claim victory, Lane was using the new Abu Garcia Revo MGX, 7.9:1 spooled with Stren fishing line, and a new 7'1" All Star rod.
"I can't say enough about my Revo MGX and the new All Star rod," said Lane. "To have a set up that is as light as this simply astounds me. The main benefit is the weight, but the functionality of the reel is amazing. I also found that it made me a more efficient angler. There wasn't a bunch of wasted casts with this rod n' reel combo."
Lane was the only angler to weigh in 20 or more pounds of bass each day of the tournament. His nearest competitor finished with 58 pounds, 1 ounce.
Next up for the Bassmaster Southern Opens is April 5-7 on Lake Norman out of Charlotte, N.C.
