Rated 5 out of 5 by Mccm from Inshores hold up well to saltwater fishing I have bought 4 inshore reels and 2 STX in the past 4 years. The Inshores have held up best to being dropped on the boat and a lot of saltwater wade fishing which abuses reels when used this way. 2 of the reels were the older model and the other 2 are the Next Generation type. The only issue I have had with the new reels is one of the handle nuts stripped out for some reason and I had to rob a nut of one of the STX reel I have. Could not find on the web site to order a new one. But I highly recommend these reels the way they stand up to the abuse I put them through and they continue to cast smoothly compared to cheaper reels that throw good for a few months then get noisy and loose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from The best I bought this reel not long ago thinking that it wouldnt cast as well as other reels and to my surprise it did, in fact I find that I can cast further on this reel than I can on my spinning reel. I have had only two issues with " birds nests" and that is because I have not used the casting brake correctly and I am new to bait casters. The gears are so smooth that I sometimes worry that my line has snapped. It is very small and compact and much better built then the shimano Calcutta range. The only issue I have is that it only carries 125 meters of my line. The best reel I have ever bought and the strongest and the lightest and the smoothest.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Rafter C4 from From Bass to Reds and Specks without a change of reels? This reel allows me to fish Bass in NE Texas one day and stalk Reds and Specs in the flats of the Texas Gulf the next. I use this reel for dang near everything. When I am on the Gulf I am still in the habit of spraying out my reels after every trip but with this reel I spray some lube on the reel or Reel Magic and I am good. I no longer need to break down the reel every night to lube it up. In doing this I do not loose any performance or feel. Now I do break it down once a year and do an in-depth cleaning. Twice if I am in the saltwater a lot. At the end of the day I love the feel of the reel in my hand and the feel of the retrieve. The drag is very nice too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Craig from Revo Inshore is the Best All Around Reel! I own many Abu Garcia products, but I purchased two Revo Inshore reels and Veritas rods about a year ago. I don't do much saltwater fishing, but loved the feel of the Inshore once I held it. My passion is bass fishing. I have to say that I was a bit worried about using a "saltwater" reel in freshwater applications, but boy was I surprised. This reel is by far the best all around reel I have ever had. It is the smoothest casting, best cranking reel in the industry. This reel has the finesse you need when using light baits, the speed for crankbaits, and the power to horse fish out of heavy cover. I loves these reels. Thanks Abu Garcia!

Rated 5 out of 5 by RJ from I have two of these reels! I have two of these reels! When walking on a party boat I see the looks I get with my 5'6" rod, my low-profile Revo Inshore, and 12lb braid. But, once I put a rig on that I have devised, with Gulp, and start landing the Fluke, they all want to talk about the rod-reel setup! I have gone 10 times this year with this setup so far, and won the pool twice, and high-hook (most keepers), 5 times! My other setup is similar, except I have 30lb braid that I use for Blue Fish and Stripers. I think I am pushing the limit with the blues, but it handles the stripers with no problem. Get one of these reels today and you will be very very satisfied.

Rated 5 out of 5 by thumburner from Casts like a CHAMP!! I ordered this reel back in October of 2012 and have used this reel fishing for puppy drum (redfish) and for speckled trout. it casts light lures and heavier 1oz. lures like there's no tomorrow!! however, i have noticed that the brakes are already starting to wear down(centrifigal#. one of the breaks has even broken off #pitching brakes). out of all the Abu reels i have owned in the past this is the only one to do this. i was expecting better quality brakes especially for the price i had paid. considering all this i would still recommend this reel for the inshore fisherman. it still runs great considering the issue with the brakes.

Rated 1 out of 5 by CaptScott from No left hand retrieve anymore Bought 3 of the gen 1 revo inshores several years ago, and had wonderful service out of them have torn down and rebuilt multiple times. As a professional fishing guide and tournament angler the reels have been thru the ringer and survived well, so when it was time to upgrade to new models I can not tell you how disappointed I was to see that they are no longer offered in left hand retrieve. The guys at the tackle shop recommended the NaCl in left hand retrieve, but it was way to big and clunky for my uses, jerkbaits, topwaters etc... So i guess its back to Shimano and Daiwa who have not forsaken the lefty's of the fishing world. Too bad they were nice reels...thumbs down!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Fish phantom from Revo Inshore Review Hello all, Buying my first Revo Inshore about a year ago, I have many things to discuss about it. I realized at first that the heavy drag, strong line capacity and smooth gears were all advantages. However, I started to realize that all these advantages became on the downside as I started to use it more and more causing me to put an ample amount of money into it to keep it turning. I recommend that if you purchase one, that you service it every 6 months to keep it working smoothly. Hope this helped, stay stoked my friends.
