Rated 1 out of 5 by Frustrated Angler from Horrible Casting Setup I bought 2 of these from BP. Both will lock up during cast, snapping the line. The only line they haven't snapped is 40# braid and thicker. I have lost several lures during cast due to this issue. I have several Spincast reels and these are the only 2 that have this issue. I have tried all types of line and weight. It happens with light and heavy lures. I thought maybe I was hitting it with hand during cast, causing it to catch but after several attempts while watching my cast it would catch without my hand touching it. I decided to trash these today. Not a huge loss but still a loss. Too bad as it is smooth reeling and I love Abu Garcia reels. Please try to correct this issue!

Rated 1 out of 5 by andrewcoburn from Absolutely horrible Terrible. The casting system is a total failure. Button sticks, and is impossible to use.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Hill from I'm so the girlfriend in the back of the boat Pretty easy to use. My boyfriend got it for me so i would go fishing with him. I caught what he said was a big crappie on it. It was pretty fun. I didnt have any problems other than i couldnt cast as far as him

Rated 1 out of 5 by beasleybiz from First trip out, Failed! First trip out in the kayak I spent 5 minutes trying to cast getting mixed results. It would either hang and usually sling the bait, or go entirely too far, there seemed to be no in between. I eased back on my toss and still kept getting no action until it finally cut the line. I re-rigged and tried again with similar results. Stuck it in the rod holder and watched everyone else fish for the rest of the trip.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Pi Man from Too Cheap? Bought this for the wife as she prefers this style reel and it lasted two weeks before it started grinding terribly and became sticky when reeling in. You can feel the grittiness in it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Trob64 from Cheap works well I bought this reel a few months ago, it paired well with a quantum telecast I bought along with it. I have caught a lot of fish on it so far and it hasn't had any problems yet. I live on the delta and fish almost every day and it has yet to let me down.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Sparky 1 from Buy a zebco I purchased the road and reel combo, the rod is worth the price I paid for it, but the reel is built very cheap, only has one line pawl when all my 12.00 zebco reels have two. Trying to cast is a failure 3 out of 5 times the line will hang and jerk so bad the bait flies off. Abu Garcia, all your future customers are starting with this style reel, it's up to you to make sure you keep those customers.

Rated 1 out of 5 by OhioDee from returning it I bought this reel for a light fishing trip to canada. Worked fine first day which was about 2 hours of fishing. Second day, experienced LOTS of snagged casts, meaning after about 10' of line had gone out, the reel would lock (go out of casting mode) and the lure would come flying back at the boat. Thought it was me, but after this occurred on very controlled casts with no hands on the reel, I'm convinced it's the reel. Its like the clutch randomly snaps back off during the cast. I also had the line snap during casts as well, seeing my lure sail out into the bay with 8-10' of line attached. I used this reel to also drop a line 10-20' straight down. Even that had problems. The line would snag and I needed to manually pull the line out of the reel to allow the bait to drop to the bottom. Used this reel for about 8 hours total. Thank goodness I also took an old reel to use as a backup. Planning to return this ASAP
