So far, so good for a super budget priced baticaster.
I bought the Max Z Low Profile baitcaster to replace one that got burned up. This was part of the 40% off sale directly from Abu Garcia, so the price was excellent. I paired it with a St. Croix Bass X. I've fished with it 6-7 times so far, and have thrown topwater, jig with plastic trailer. So far, it has performed well. Time will only tell if it will hold up for a bunch of seasons. I do my own reel maintenance, so I take care of it, and I expect it to last.

These Max Z reels are a lot of bang for the buck. Dependable, durable and cast very good. I use them bass fishing and they have held up to lots of use. Great reel for beginner or experienced angler.
