YELAS JOINS ABU GARCIA PRO STAFF

Abu Garcia is proud to announce that Jay Yelas, current FLW Angler of the Year and 2002 Bassmaster Classic Champion, has joined the pro staff.
“Joining the Abu Garcia team is certainly a pleasure,” Yelas said. “Abu Garcia is renowned for their innovation and drive to succeed. To be considered part of this team is an honor and privilege. I’ve always been a big fan of Abu Garcia. I used an ABU baitcaster, which I had purchased, to win my first big tournament, the 1988 U.S. BASS Lake Mohave Pro Draw.”
Yelas currently competes on the FLW Tour with FLW Angler of the Year honors in 2002 and 2007. He also enjoyed a fruitful career on the B.A.S.S. tournament trail, winning not only the Bassmaster Classic but receiving Bassmaster Angler of the Year honors in 2003. The Abu Garcia pro has also garnered two Angler of the Year titles on the FLW tour in 2002 and 2007.
Yelas will represent Abu Garcia at the $9.5 million Wal-Mart FLW Tour. The tournament will stop in Kissimmee, Fla., Feb. 28-March 2 for its first regular-season tournament, a $1 million event hosted by the Central Florida Sports Commission and the Kissimmee–St. Cloud Convention and Visitors Bureau.
