ABU GARCIA PRO MARK MARTIN WINS PWT TOURNAMENT
—
Abu Garcia pro Mark Martin claimed victory on the Professional Walleye Trail at this past weekend’s Berkley/Lowrance Pro-Am Series on Lake Oahe. The Abu Garcia pro made a push for the lead during the final day and weighed in a winning weight of 49-pounds, 15-ounces.
The win on Lake Oahe in Mobridge, S.D., earned the Abu Garcia pro a prize package worth over $62,000. Martin jigged from the shoreline to 15 feet with Gulp! Alive minnows, switching to bait as a cold front rolled across the prairie.
“I trailed the entire tournament,” said Mark Martin. “My Abu Garcia reels really put me in position to win the tournament. Walleye anglers tend to abuse their equipment during a tournament and Abu Garcia reels are the only reels that can withstand the abuse.”
The remaining 2008 In-Fisherman Professional Walleye Trail schedule is: June 26-27, Bull Shoals Lake out of Bull Shoals, Ark. July 13-15, Wabigoon Lake out of Dryden, Conn. September 11-13, St. Marys River in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. October 16-18, St. Croix/Mississippi River out of Hudson, Mich.
