Nice little fishing outfit for the price. Great for any beginner. I caught several fish on mine catches bass no problem on lighter lures it does not like heavy ones. I've been using a mini Chatterbait and catching fish on it like crazy.

The quality of the reel is terrible. It snags half of the time you are trying to cast, and the reeling mechanism is very choppy (not smooth at all). Ive been fishing for almost 30 years, saltwater and freshwater- i bought this for my 7 year old son. This is what I get for picking something based on looks/name - I should have bought him a zebco - will be returning this combo before our fishing trip.

I purchased this combo the minute I laid eyes on it with its sleek design. Abu Garcia always delivers the best. I've actually caught some decent bass with these bad boys. I highly recommend this combo to those who are looking for something different
