1st reel felt like and sounded like a manual coffee bean grinder. Locked up after landing 6th L.M. Bass. Took much back and forth before Abu Garcia reel department accepted FedEx returned delivery. 4 weeks later they sent me a new reel. Completely different feel, actual packaging in a reel box. Not the cheapo hang on a peg board discount store skin pack. Makes me wonder if the discount box stores are receiving subpar quality reels, versus a quality controlled inspected product you get from buying directly from Abu Garcia. Time will tell if this replacement holds up. If so, I'll be back and update my review.

I can get the most distance with this reel out of all my baitcasters. Works well all day....except sometimes when I try to engage the reel after casting, the cast lever will not pop back up when you spin the handle, so I have to do it manually. Reel is brand new and started doing it soon after receiving it.
