Warranty Policy

At Abu Garcia®, we engineer our rods and reels to perform with precision and reliability—trip after trip, cast after cast. We stand behind the craftsmanship of our gear with a limited warranty that reflects our dedication to quality and innovation.

Warranty Coverage

For original purchasers in the United States and Canada:

  • Reels are covered for a period of one (1) year from the original date of purchase.

  • Rods are covered for a limited period of three (3) to five (5) years, depending on the rod series:

This warranty is valid only for the original owner and covers defects in material or workmanship. If a product issue arises that falls under warranty coverage, Abu Garcia will, at its discretion, repair or replace the item at no charge—excluding shipping and handling.

What’s Not Covered

This limited warranty does not cover:

    • Normal wear and tear

    • Damage due to misuse, abuse, alteration, or accident

    • Failure to perform reasonable maintenance

    • Products used commercially or for rental purposes

    • Rods or reels that have been modified in any way

Products exhibiting damage of this nature will be returned at the consumer's expense.

Abu Garcia does not offer repair services or replacement parts for rods. If your rod is found to be defective under warranty, it will be replaced with the same or a comparable model. Reels sent in for warranty repair must follow proper service procedures as outlined below.

Important: Rods or reels requiring warranty service should not be returned to the store of purchase.

How to Submit a Warranty Claim

For Rods:

To process a rod claim, please email the following to support@abugarcia.com:

    • A clear photo of the rod showing the brand and model (above the handle)
    • A photo of the broken area(s)
    • A dated receipt or proof of purchase
    • A brief description of how the break occurred
    • Your shipping address and daytime contact number

Rods qualifying for warranty replacement are subject to a processing fee of $9.95 USD or $10.55 CAD. If the original rod model is no longer available, we will contact you with comparable replacement options.

For Reels:

Please complete and include the Reel Repair/Replacement Form along with a copy of your dated receipt. Package your reel securely and ship it via a trackable method (UPS, FedEx, or insured mail). You are responsible for inbound shipping and insurance. We will return the repaired or replaced reel at no cost to you.

Legal Terms

This "limited warranty" has been drafted to comply with the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act; which is effective for goods manufactured on or after December 31, 1976. For the period indicated, Abu Garcia will, at its option, repair or replace and return the covered items found to be defective in material or workmanship at no charge except for shipping cost. Abu Garcia will have no other obligation and will not be liable for incidental or consequential damages. Abu Garcia makes no implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for any period beyond the stated duration of each Limited Warranty. This Warranty does not cover damage by addition or alteration of the product, accidental damage or loss, abuse, failure to provide reasonable and necessary maintenance or normal expected wear. Damage that is determined to be of this nature will be repaired at consumer's expense. This Warranty does not extend to products which are put to commercial or rental use. 

Abu Garcia shall not be liable for incidental or consequential damages arising from the use of our products, whether under this warranty or otherwise. 

Note: This Warranty extends only to the original purchaser of the reel, and does not give any rights to any other person. Some states do not allow limitations on the duration of implied warranties or exclusions of incidental or consequential damages. As such, these limitations may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state. Wholesalers and dealers (unless an Abu Garcia Authorized Center) are not authorized to make in-warranty repairs or adjustments on behalf of Abu Garcia. The terms of the Warranty cannot be changed except in writing by an officer of Abu Garcia. Abu Garcia rods or reels requiring warranty repair should NOT be returned to the store of purchase.
