Bought this as I needed a new baitcaster reel. The combo was on sale, still need a new reel, but this combo has been my go to! That reel I need will be an Abu Garcia, hands down. I bought from Amazon, will leave this review there too.
1st - My Ex GF (co-parenting) brought the kids to my fishing spot for a visit. She wanted to cast. I adjusted brakes accordingly. She’s never used a Baitcaster, NO BACKLASH! That completely sold me. My kids first baitcaster will be an Abu Garcia.
2- This rod is my go to for many things, but in just the short 3 weeks I’ve had it, Largemouth in heavy weeds and cover, the rod holds well and drags them out, keeps the pressure and hook sets, no issues with reel seating coming lose, no cracks, pops, or noises.
Buy it!!! Well worth the money.

We do a lot of river fishing and were looking for a rod and reel that could make pulling flies in the spring for walleyes easier. What a great set. We bought four. Super light and super sensitive. You can’t go wrong!

This is my first baitcaster, I’ve been using spinning reels the longest. Arrived in mail in great condition, I removed all zip ties applied for shipping and properly put it together. Ran line and fished the next day. I’ve had great results and it’s been an incredible first baitcaster. Smooth retrieve, good action. Definitely recommend.

During a travel baseball travel weekend we found ourselves in Albertville Al. Which is close to gunners lake. Myself and son went over to the local Dunham’s and got 2 combo’s and some baits, line everything needed to rip a lip. My son got the MaxX sp30 combo and I got the MaxStx baitcasting combo. Been throwing it for a little over a month. It is phenomenal in my opinion and really has me hooked on baitcaster’s. Grew up with spinning reels and just stuck to what I knew like a knuckle head. I love how precise the adjustments are on the MaxStx Reel. I have a 1/2 oz SK 2 Tap Lipless crank bait on it and you can throw it with no thumb no backlash. Perfect for beginners like myself learning it’s very forgiving. As I’ve progressed I’ve taken my break off a bit more and using my thumb more, it’s amazing how far u can throw accurately. The Rod is amazing as well very light, the reel lock stays locked. Love the Tennessee colors. I’m absolutely in love with this combo. So much I got a Revo SX/vendetta Combo while they were onsale. Having a blast learning how to bass fish with my son and best friend!
