There are only a few reels with a flipping button. I own several of each. From worst to best.
3. Pflueger and the Abu Max 4 STX are even. Plastic frame, low bearing count, low drag, both made in China, but functional and cast well (flip/pitch).
2. Lews SuperDuty LFS. Metal frame, great drag, most bearings of all, made in Vietnam, but…..every one that I own are rough, noisy, inconsistent feel, one has a tick, one is grindy. Shame.
1. This one, Abu Max SX. Half the price of the Lews, less bearings though, plastic frame, also made in China, but it is smooth, casts (flip/pitch) great, and just works. Though it doesn't share the Lews strength, it is smoother and has replaced my pitching reels. These are now my go to!
Abu, if you’re listening, it would be great if you put flipping switches on one of your higher end reels. 10+ bearings, metal frame, strong drag, magnetic brakes, lightweight spool that holds about 75 yards of 40lb braid. And if you can do a T shaped guide similar to Daiwa.

I have never had a reel with a flipping switch. This reel is great to use for that technique specifically. I am so glad I decided to buy this. Highly recommended and it is great for pitching too.
