The Ambassadeur STX round reel delivers the ultimate combination of value and smooth performance in a durable package. Engineered with a 4 + 1 stainless steel bearing system, powerful multi-disk drag, and a compact, bent handle and star, the Ambassadeur STX fits the bill for a variety of species and techniques. The recessed reel foot allows the reel to sit low on the rod, making it easier to palm and cast. Available in left and right hand models, the STX includes a 5600 size model that holds 230 yards of 14lb test mono and a 6600 size that holds 255 yards of 14lb test mono.

I have a problem with that coil from the date of purchase. First the bad press the keys, and if you release the spool and then managed to push it back not exactly bouncing had to finger the right side of the key to raise ... And now even a crack on the key on the left side. I wanted to buy a new press, but have not found on Ebay. I can conclude Abu Garcia factories in China which monitors the quality of products. Danuyu model is not recommended to buy.

I’ve been using ambassador reels for well over 20 years and this one is by far the worst I’ve ever purchased. Drag and brake are completely backed off and it still won’t cast properly.

I have several Abu round reals , bought a 5601STX because I couldn’t find a 5601C4 at the time. Have used it for 4 years now with no concerns. Very smooth, casts great and with annual maintenance has been rock solid reliable. Have used it for strippers, salmon and steelhead . No regrets for the purchase.
