This has turned out to be my new favorite Ambassadeur Reel. Silky smooth casting with the perfect retriever speed for my fishing needs. This is my sixth Ambassadeur dating back to 1960 when 1I recieved a Red Model 5000 for my 10th Birthday. My Granddad used them for catfish as did my Dad did for largemouth bass back in the 50's and 60's. I still have, and fish with that red 5000. It looks a bit worn, but still works well ! Thanks again for making my all time favorite Reels !

Took it on a couple fly in trips. Casted for weeks straight, caught countless fish with it. Zero issues.

I can't recall the model. It was a Garcia bait caster, round, thumb bar. For bass fishing. It had plastic clips that could be put on the spool to take less line. Silver in color. Maybe, a C3 or C4? It was a smaller set up than the popular 5500 reel. I really liked that reel!
I just don't like the feel of the new low profile reels. There too small. Don't fit my hand the way the old Garcia " oil can " reels did.
Does Garcia, Ambassador, have anything similar to that old reel still today? 12-14 lb mono. 3/8-1/2 oz Thanks!
