I was super excited to receive a great brand in a spincast. But honestly it’s poor quality. The drag does work. N overall the Zebco 33 is just the best spincast .

Set up as an ultra light rig, 1st time out hooked and landed a 3lb catfish.

Very poor reel . This reel is complete trash right out of the box . Don’t waste your money . Even at an entry level price this reel would cause people new to fishing to stop fishing .

The rod is a perfectly sensitive 5/8 lure weight and 2 piece which is perfect for bank fishermen, but that reel👀. It’s terrible. It’s a light weight plastic reel (cheap construction) and strung with light line that tangles easily. I used my $30 dollar coupon from an earlier purchase and so my combo was $17 total (with shipping) and it’s so dissapointing that I spent time to write this. Had I spent the $45 asking price I would have been calling Abu directly, lol. Either way it’s a nice rod and a throw away reel.
