I use this reel for shad fishing on The American River. It is fast and smooth, it casts light jigs extremely well. The only issue is if you get a slack loop it can get under the spool. Once this happens, you must remove the spool to get the loop out from the reel. All in all the reel performs extremely well except that one issue. I am pleased the reel. This is my first Abu Garcia spinning reel. I have multiple bait casting reels that I use a lot with no issues.

I knew this was a good reel but it’s better than I expected. Of course it’s super fast, but it’s well designed and functions perfectly in all ways. Put a 40 on a slip bobber rod and it’s been working out great.
