I've owned just two Abu Garcia reels in my lifetime. A spincast I bought in 1968 and a 5000 bait cast along with a 6.5 medium Abu Garcia rod I bought in 1971. I still use both reels and the rod. Very few times have they ever let me down, and aside from normal maintenance, have required very few repairs. Quality, dependable products. While I love the looks of this new reel, at 75, I'm probably not going to purchase one, only because I have the two that have taken me thru over half a century of great fishing.
