I wrote a lot of emails and waited a long time to see this reel come back, and it has been smooth sailing since I started fishing it again. The reel addresses the issues the previous models had(I had several gen 2 and 3), and the updated braking system with side control is the most noticeable update. With the new braking system, getting your cast dialed in is a breeze, even when casting into the wind. Simply turn the dial on the side plate, adjust according to your needs, and cast. The reel is a true 200 size reel, 12/180 mono, and I never worry about running out of line when fighting a big fish. The drag offers 20lbs+ of buttery smooth drag, and pulling big halibut out the surf, or coastal Ca stripers out of current is quick work. The reel is light and easy to palm, making it easy for someone like me with bad hands/injuries to use. The extended handle provides plenty of leverage when fighting big fish, and the big knobs make it so you do not lose your grip. The reel has no real cons, I only wish they made a 100 and 300 size as well. Lol. I recommend this reel for anyone fishing calico, wsb, halibut in the ca surf and inshore, to all the flats guys chasing bull reds and snook, even to the cobia fisherman fishing deep. The reel is also suited to the swimbait guys throwing lures up to 4 oz in the lakes or saltwater.
