I've landed some heavy monsters with this reel.... i keep it on hand for the big ones... landed this 33 with ease yesterday. Haven't figured out how to cast it for distance but I'm not really good with bait casters so maybe it's just my inexperience.

I have three of these workhorses in my arsenal. They are what I cut my teeth on over 25 years ago. I still use them every year. I have taken big cats out of local rivers to bucket mouth bass out of farm ponds. They are all geared so strong and solid and the drags on Abu reels are far and away the best! These classic round baitcasters can also handle being treated roughly, although I do not recommend it.

Light weight. Plenty of line capacity. Comfortable to hold. Easy to operate and make adjustments. Powerful enough to reel in everything from Pinks to Kings.
Primarily used (successfully) for salmon trolling and jigging.
Important to clean regularly after user on saltwater.
