I bought 2 of the exact same rods the 8’6” heavy and they both have manufacturing defects! The tip guide on both rods slice 65lb and 80lb braid like butter… the insert doesn’t sit in the metal frame part of the guide so the line rubs over it and slices it on every cast… I thought I had defective line so it cost me a bunch of expensive swimbaits and plenty of grief between the 2 separate rods to figure out what was happening and then I contacted Abu Garcia about the issue and it’s been a week and I’ve heard nothing back and still can’t use my brand new gear! So you decide if this is somebody you want to do business with so far I’m very unimpressed!

Have 8 foot XH, throwing big softbaits for the most part, 7.5" romas and 8" rising sons handles them great, but need be can toss lighter 2-3 oz lures like my BC creeps or bucca brand shad. This rod is versitle but for sure sturdy and stout, great fit and finish on it too.
